WWII Gendai-to Shin-gunto

Signature: "Kasama Ikkansai Shigetsugu saku" and Date "Showa Ju-ichi Nen Ni Gatsu Hi (A day February of 1936)
Nagasa (Length): 26 1/8 inches, Nakago: 8 1/2 inches, Sori: 1.5 cm 1.5cm
Motokasane: .7 cm, Sakikasane: .6 cm, Motohaba:
3.3 cm, Sakihaba:  2.5 cm  
Construction: Shinogi-Zukuri
Mune: Iori-Mune
Hamon:  Slightly slanted saka gunome choiji 
Kitae (Grain): Fine itame close to muji.
Boshi: Maru
Mountings: Completely original Shin-gunto fittings with all matching number "6".
Overall Condition: Good condition with two deep pittings, and a flaw in vertical of the hamon. This smith is in John Slough's book "Modern Japanese swordsmiths 1868-1945" page 160. This is a great item for restoration project or study piece of the high rated smith in WWII.
